It's morning

GM: It is morning. Room is dark. There is the sound of the usual bustle outside.

Anything of note happen?

Even odds. No

Malaika: Once I've breakfasted etc I'll contact an old friend. An Netrunner.

Oracle

Create Netrunner deets
Male/Female roll. Female.
GMA Name: Agni
Details added to her page
What has she been up to?
GMA: Merge/Unholy/Power

GM: You briefly catch up with your friend. She's been hacking the corps again. Digging up hidden data that proves some political corruption. This is now public knowledge and chaos has ensued.

Malaika: On that note, I ask her if she has had any run-ins with Medicorp.

Oracle

Has Agni had any dealing with Medicorp?
Even odds. Yes
GMA: Trap/Distant/Temple

GM: Yes, she's had some run in with Medicorp. She's hacked their systems once or twice. She's got some great news for you. To hack a corp like Medicorp you've got to get inside. And that's a death sentence. Unless, they have somewhere out the way they think people don't know about with ... less security. Which they have. And she knows where.

Oracle

Is this location nearby.
Even odds. Yes.
It's located in snowy mountains. Near a skiing resort.

Malaika: Is she in the mood to skip town and earn some eddies?

Oracle

Is she? Good odds. Yes.

The Airport

Oracle

Are they being followed?
Bad odds. Yes.
I roll some dice to find out how many, some simple details for them...
GMA: Elegant weapons of a civilised age.

GM: You have anxious feeling all the way to the airport. You can't help looking round and out of the corner of your eye but you see nothing out of the ordinary. Until you settle in to the plane and it hits the runway. Behind you you notice two woman. Street samurai. You can't say for certain but they might be tailing you.

Malaika: I'll spend some time trying to figure them out. Can I notice anything at all?

GM: Roll 3d6 vs D6.

Roll

Rolls 3d6. Fails.

GM: You notice nothing. But they look formidable. You can't shake this feeling for the whole flight. You finally land. What do you do?

Malaika: We'll go the airport bar. We need to discuss this. We were meant to be low key. We need to find out for certain if they are following us.

The Bar

Oracle

Do the Street Samurai confront them in the bar?
Odds Good. Yes.
They could have killed M & A before getting on the plane. Why did they hold off?
GMA: Grow/Helpless/Nightmare

GM: The two Street Samurai enter the bar and make beeline for you.

Malaika: I'll slip my pistol out of my bag and ready it.
Agni: Likewise.

GM: They noisily drag chair up to you both. You can tell from the way they carry themselves and the smiles on their faces that they mean business and they are confident they can carry that business out.

Samurai#1 "so, how's this going to play out? "

Malaika : "Who you working for? "

Samurai#1: "He he. Someone very rich who wishes to remain anonymous."

Samurai#2: "What's it to be then? We finish this here. Right now?"

Agni: "I think we'll just check in to our hotel. And think about it.""

Samurai#2: "Fine with us. We'll just be breathing down your necks. Don't think we need to paint you a picture."

Agni: "Fine." Let's get out of here.

Malaika: "Good idea.""

GM: The two Street samurai let you past with a friendly smile. Kind of motherly. The hotel isn't too far. Do you have any other plans?

Player: We need to call in back up. I think Agni would have a contact who can handle themselves.

Oracle

Does Agni have a suitable contact?
Odd likely → Yes.
Random gender → Male
GMA Name: Theo
Add more details to his page.

GM: Agni knows a guy. Name of Theo. Very handy in a brawl. You call him. I guess you give him the sitch and ask him if he can help?

Player: That's right.

Oracle

Can Theo make it?
Odds Good → Yes.

GM: He says he'll be on the next flight. Hold tight.

Player: We'll head to the Hotel and recover. Try and gather some intel and come up with a plan.

At the hotel

GM: You get to the hotel to check in. You sharing a room?

Player: Yeah, they'll share. Save a few eddies.

GM: You settle in. As you do so, you casually check the corridor to see if there's anything happening. One of the Street samurai has parked herself at the end of the corridor on a chair. Just watching. Looks very relaxed.

Player: Great. Well that's to be expected. But what of the other one? Malaika will check the windows, while Agni checks for bugs etc.

GM: Malaika goes to the window. Even as you get to the curtains you hear the telltale humming of drones. Two of them. Watching your window.

Oracle

Is the room bugged?
Even odds. No.

GM: Agni you do a sweep of the room and find nothing.

Player: They discuss the situation. Is there any other way out? Air vents, fire escape. Anything?

Oracle

Is there any other way out? This is just a bog-standard room so no balcony. Fire escape is through the door in to the corridor.
Bad odds → No.

GM: Nope. All you've paid for is a box with two single beds.

Player: Agni has an idea. She asks Malaika if she has any video footrage of the Street samurai caught on her Ocular Implant. Does she.

GM: Yeah. Makes sense. She's a journo.

Player: Agni will use the images to find out who they are and then find some leverage they can use against them.

GM: Roll 3d6 against D5.

Roll

3d6 → 2,6,1. Info is found.
They are called Xiu and Hoshi

Oracle

How much info found? Bellcurve 3 → 2
GMA:
1. Remember/Medical/Tension
They have fallen in to bad favour with Medicorp. They are paying off a debt, working for them.
3. Exterminate/Aggressive/World
They a poor kids that had to get tough fast. Parents were ruined by corps. But now working for those very same corps.

Player: Malaika decides she will speak to them. She thinks with this leverage she can talk them. They don't look like corp fans, maybe a deal can be struck. We get inside Medicorp there's probably info they need stealing or destroying.

GM: You head out in to the corridor. The Street samurai relaxes even more in her chair and smiles. Seeing as you have leverage I'll set the difficulty at 5. Roll 3d6 to persuade them.

Roll

3d6 → 2,4,4. Employs Fast Talk quirk and spends a karma to drop it to 4, making it a success.

GM: The Street samurai looks at you for a moment. Sizes you up. Pull her colleague into the convo. They aren't afraid of taking risks and this seems like the best way to get out of whatever predicament they are in.

Street samurai: "Ok. It's a deal. But we come with you. If we agree we need this to succeed. No chances."

Malaika: "I guess it was meant to be."

GM: The two Street Samurai introduce themselves properly as Xia & Hoshi. What now?

Player: They head back to the hotel to plan.

Later

GM: You head back to the hotel. Xia & Hoshi get you all to order in some Chinese food. A few hours later Theo arrives. You update him on the situation. How does everyone feel about working with the Street Samurai?

Oracle

Is Agni unhappy? Odds even → No.
Is Theo unhappy? Odds even → Yes.

Player: Agni is ok with the situation, but wary. Theo is disappointed that he's not the only muscle on the team. He doesn't understand why they are here. He was looking forward to a bit of action.

The 'team' discuss a plan. Malaika stresses that this is a stealth mission. Xia & Hoshi and Theo are there as muscle in case anything goes wrong. Agni and Malaika will lead.

GM: Sounds good. Anything else?

Player: Nope.

GM: You all gather your equipment to set off. You hire a car, or rather a jeep. Pack your stuff in and head off.

Oracle

What is the Medicorp lab actually for? Do we know?
Odd even → yes.
GMA: Fight/Precise/Daemon

GM: Agni thinks she knows what the lab is for. This she uncovered when hacking their systems previously. The lab is a research centre focussing on AI-based biological attacks. Who is driving?

Player: Theo. He seems the sort that can't sit around watching out the window.

GM: Theo follows the directions given. You drive on a clear road past the skiing resort. Eventually you need to turn off. The road goes steep and the snow gets thicker and thicker. Eventually you need to get out and hike. After a invigorating climb you reach your destination. Before you is a building surrounded by a wire fence. It's getting dark, and the place is lit up by lights in the four corners of the complex. It isn't huge, quite humble. But you guess there is more to be found underground. You just need to get in and out unnoticed.
